The American Cancer Society’s mission is to improve the lives of people with cancer and their families through advocacy, research, and patient support, to ensure everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat and survive cancer.

In 2026, an estimated 9,680 children in the United States will be diagnosed with cancer.  Thanks to continued advances in research and treatment, 85% of children with cancer now survive five years or more, a remarkable improvement over past decades.  While work remains, continued research is making a real difference.

At its heart, Big Dig Colorado helps fund critical pediatric cancer research, supporting the American Cancer Society’s mission to end cancer as we know it for everyone.
